"there are some children in this world who have nothing to eat!"

That's right, I said it. Today I morphed into an amalgam of every mom who has ever chastised a child for not eating their dinner. Of course, as my mouth was forming the cliche I thought to myself "but this is different, I'm just explaining it to her so she can appreciate what she has"....that's what they all thought, wasn't it? WASN'T IT??? Well, that's it. I'm giving up on trying to be the 'progressive' mom, the 'back to basics with scratch meals and homemade birthday cakes' mom, the 'no candy' mom, the mom who irons her kid's clothes and bakes a pumpkin pie just because it's fall...I'm JUST LIKE THEM and there's nothing I can do about it. The fight is over. I've lost.
