Sometimes the only way to get a good feeling for the day is to force oneself into cooperation. Case in point: This morning I decided to not go to the gym. My reasons remain my own and I stand by them, unfortunately this decision (however stalwart) resulted in a general feeling of malaise and malcontent with the rest of the day that lay ahead. I realized that the only sane thing to do was to get dressed, including hair and makeup, as if I were really going somewhere and not just sitting at my desk with the curtains drawn and my house slippers on. It worked! Kind of. Part two of the plan is to stop eating lemon squares by the fistful which I suspect is responsible for making me listless and tired. Stupid sugar, that's why I hardly eat you anymore.

So the moral of the story? You can trick yourself into having a good day! Or a better day at the very least. Either way, you win. I win. We all win.

Also, on a totally unrelated note, I have completely mastered the art of eating salads with no dressing. It's a fine balance of ingredients, but I believe I finally got it just right.

I can't believe B is in 3rd grade. That is crazy talk. Also I will be expecting some lemon squares in my mailbox soon. That should keep you from eating at least 4 of them.

just this last week I went two days in a row makeup-less, since TJ is gone. At first I was all excited, thinking, my skin can breathe! but then I realized that I was grossed out every time I passed a mirror. Not worth it. My skin can breathe some other time.
The only salad I can eat without dressing, is spinach, with nuts, and fruit. I actually prefer it that way. dried cranberries are awesome.
