Today's Maid Simple post is all about time management. There's a little trick I use during the week to keep the house looking presentable for all the company I'm constantly receiving. You know, the neighbor's 5 year old son and the UPS man… Anyway, here's a fun way to keep your house looking like you just cleaned, even if it's been a while.
First, pick a time limit (I like to do 30 minutes). Then, divide that time by the number of rooms you want to clean up (I usually do the whole house, but if your house is pretty big, just do the rooms that are immediately visible when you come in the front door). Next, set a timer for your first room. For example, I'll set the microwave timer for 5 minutes and do as much cleaning as I can in that amount of time. When the micro beeps, time's up and I'll move to the living room.
It's amazing what I can accomplish in just 5 minutes. My house can go from tornado status to Open House-clean in no time!
