On the benefits of the internets

Friends! The silliest, most wonderful thing happened to me last week all because of the interwebs! I received an email from a writer at Food Network Magazine asking for an interview about a sweet little cake I made a few years ago. She was trolling Flickr and came across a photo that I had posted of the cake and she sent me a message asking for a back story. Later that day after I had emailed her the story of the cake she rang me up, as they say, for an impromptu interview. I just happened to be sitting in my regular spot at Starbucks, waiting for B's Brownie meeting to end and reading a phenomenal new book by Tracy Chevalier when my phone rang and *poof!* my first magazine interview!
The issue will be out June of this year. My interview will be part of a larger article, the details of which I'm not sure I should divulge until the issue streets...you know, just in case some food magazine sharks are eyeing my blog for idea-chum.
I just love it when the internet yields randomly wonderful surprises!
