Getting Mine (or, Just Desserts)

I've decided that B's teachers are trying to punish me for not volunteering in the classroom as much this year as I've done in the past. They let me get away with it all year, but now it's time for comeuppance apparently. In the next two weeks I'm responsible for baking 5 dozen cookies for the class, helping B create an Arctic food-chain diorama and a food-web made up of molded clay African Savannah wildlife, sewing a 1920s costume for her to wear, helping her write a 5-page short story, an autobiography, and an essay, and learning how to tie a thousand knots for Girl Scouts, AND writing a report on Aimee Semple McPherson, who we're calling a "California Character" but who, by Wikipedia's account, was nothing more than a hypocritical hyper-evangelist who faked her own kidnapping so she could get a secret abortion. I think I'm holding it together relatively well at this point, but check in with me again when I'm behind the sewing machine trying to figure out how to turn an Easter dress into this:
